Is there a good place in the block a body could use for the return of a bypass oil filter setup?

I've seen them taped on the valve cover, potential option, and returned to a new oil cap. But would like to find a plug somewhare on the block. There is a small port on the drivers side just above the ECM bracket. Could that work?

Remove the Cover Plate that's in the Picture to the left and Make sure that it is open to the Oil cavity. That way you will know that it's not a coolant plug.

There are places in the block that would alow you to return the oil back from the by-pass, but the oil fill cap affords the opportunity to draw oil samples for analysis with a very minimum of introducing contaminants to the sample.
