Has anyone ever tried or used then glass mounted C. B. Antenna

It mounts to the back window on the truck.

One part on the outside of the window and one part on the inside of the window. It is held there with some kind of sticky tape on each part.

No holes in the glass I guess the signal goes right through the glass.

I was thinking of buying one and trying it out.

I just wondered if the thing really works.

I tried one for about a month. Pile of junk in my opinion. Changed to a regualr antenna and have never looked back.

hi,. . being a ham operator i've tried many antennas over the years. thru glass type ants work fair on the higher bands but not at the c. b. band. just get one of the wilson fiberglass or wilson mag mount for the best signal(some will say a steel whip is better-but not in my opinion). there are others as well.

i've

had the best luck with the wilsons. some others may chime in on this one. good luck. ,mike

K40 antennas work great also.

If you use a mag. mount, put a piece of plastic (like a sandwich baggie, as I did for a while). Then it won't sratch the snot out of the paint. Speaking from experiance.

ive never ran a window mounted CB antenna... . however ive ran wilson and my current 102" whip... . they both have worked very good... .

Wilson is the best IMO

i use the little wil

but the 1000 or 5000 may be a little better

MJaynes could answer that question a little better than me

In the past years, I've tried a glass mounted CB antenna and a glass mounted scanner antenna. Both junk. Glass is an insulator, plain and simple. Don't waste your money. With a stock Cobra CB, I could only get 3 blocks with the glass mount. My scanner didn't do much better. I now have FireStick antennas for my CB and Scanner. Still running a rubber duck on my HAM... for now.
