Pullrite Super 5th or Reese Signature?

Quartzite, AZ. RV Show

In a month or more I will be driving to IN to pick my new 38' gooseneck racecar trailer. Is there anthing I should know before I go? I was told I may need a Class A licencse? Length limits? I plan on taking I80 the whole way. I should save myself about $2000 picking it up myself. I am going to bring some buddies and drive non-stop. TIA.

I really doubt if you need a class A if you are non-commercial... ... but you do live in CA, so maybe you ought to call the DMV. Length limits????????You won't be any longer than a rig with a 30ft TT, at least not by much. Drive safe :D

I don't know about your type trailer, but if it was a 5th wheel that weighs over 10K and less than 15K GVWR you would need a type 41 endorsement on your drivers license. If it over 15K another license like a non commercial truck driver license would be required. There probably are similiar rules for your trailer based upon it's GVWR. Check with the DMV, but don't be surprised if they don't know very much. I had to explain to them that the RV requirement existed and they had to call Sacremento to find out what they had to do.

I'm pretty sure CA has a length limit for motorhomes, it's 40 feet if I remember correctly. I don't know if they have any limits for trailers?

you will be ok, as long as you are not for hire or have an 18 wheeler they wont bother you,i drive a semi and have hauled moterhomes so youll be ok. by the way i live in indiana where u going... .
