My cab and chassis had a birthday yesterday and is now 2 yrs old. It now has over 177,000 miles on it and is still going strong. I've posted any and all problems I've had on the board, so I won't go back over them. All in all for the type of work I do, (oilfield hotshot w/ 40 ft gooseneck) it is pretty much a perfect truck. Decent mileage, plenty of power, great transmission and a good ride with the long wheelbase. I am happy with it and would definitely buy it again.

wow EB, time flies eh. I took your advice we talked about earlier and am loving my truck a lot more, thanks for your updates!

Thanks for the report, EB. I'd say your truck is strong evidence of the success of the new Dodge platform and Cummins engine.

Hi EB, I've had mine for 1-1/2 years now, but only have 30K+ on it and it has treated me very good and I am happy with it so far. I followed your every post before and after my purchase, and you were very instrumental in my decision in purchasing a 6. 7 CTD. With all of the bad hype when Dodge introduced the 6. 7 that I thought was a little bogus, the regular truck and the 350 HP version has had a lot of problems. It even caused a D/C tech to miss diagnose yours and reprogram your computer with the wrong program causing you a lot of down time, due to the reg truck problems with the DPF. I think the regular truck should have a obvious disclaimer on the dash, removable only by the dealer when its sold. It should state "Owners should work this truck hard and at long distances or don't purchase it, city driving only, will damage this vehicle. ". Part of the reason the C&C does so well compared to the reg. truck is we buy them for hard work and the other reason is the difference in emissions and the extra HP causing soot to build up faster with what seems to be a smaller DPF.

Looks like the transmission warranty will be up in 3k miles... ... . any comments on the AISIN ?

Greg

It is about 1000 miles now and it will be up. About the only thing I can say is I've had no problems at all. It seems to pull just as good today as it did when new. The torque converter is just as tight today as it was and the temp is just about the same now when I think to check it. Just changed the oil in it again, I'll be glad when the price comes down on the filters. They look just like the ones that go in the old 46 and 48 re transmissions but they cost over $150. The only answer I can get as to why is because they (Dodge) are the only place you can get them and they can charge what they want. At least the change interval is 60k miles, that makes them pretty cheap per mile.

oh oh

I'm a little concerned about my c&c I only have like 4500 miles on it, bought it at the end of May and only towed with it a couple of times. I have been just driving it back and forth to work and around town to give it some exersize. I'm concerned it isn't being worked hard enough.

Hi George, you should have better luck with the C&C due to larger DPF and less soot produced due to less HP. I drive mine in the city only for about 2K miles before a long trip or heavy pull and I have yet to have had a problem. But you should make an effort to get the exhaust hot every now and again to burn off the soot on its own without a regen. One theory out of many I have on the emissions systems, is that when fuel is introduced into the exhaust stroke, the fuel not burning completely is causing the carbon deposits to build up on the turbo.
