2018 3500 am considering turbo replacement of the factory VGT.Just recently found out this has smaller turbo than pickup models. Can anyone recomend anything particular? I do still have the stock unit from my 05 5.9 I replaced that with a Garrett.

C&C motors also have different cams and fueling program 2013 to 2018. The powerband is smaller 1600 to 2400RPM. I recall reading where someone upgraded their C&C turbo, but can't remember where. Recommend contacting some of the aftermarket turbo builders like BD and ATS. I've Googled turbos for C&Cs before, but did not find much.

I had the EB on the turbo on my 2009 Ram 4500 fail, but had it replaced at dealer because I wanted full EB functionality.

Anyhoo, please post if you find something.

Cheers, Ron

You could contact Tater Built and see if he does a rework of your stock Charger. Any non-vgt is going to require programming so reworking your stocker will keep you from having to completely reprogramming (unless you planning that anyway)

It’s a different turbo, but not smaller. It has the same turbine and turbine housing, bigger than the 5.9 turbo. The compressor and compressor housing are the main difference but I can’t find anything showing it smaller. Likely just a minor difference for figment with the different emissions.

The 5.9 turbo has too small of an exhaust housing for the 5.9 to properly breathe so a 6.7 would hate it.

What are you trying to do with the truck tuning and power wise?
