Anyone have a good source (on line) for aftermarket cab clearance lamps? The ones I can find are too large and bulky. I'd like something a bit more compact and clean looking.

Cheers-
Kevin

I bought the cab clearance light from DC; about $45 with everything you need including a template for the holes. It is the only thing I will buy from the dealer.

I would go with the Factory DC clearence lights. They look nice and aerodynamic. Just use the late model lights on your early Ram, should be no problem. I agree, alot of the aftermarket ones are huge and nasty looking.

I read in another post that there is a regular and a low profile kit. Does anyone have pictures of these? Does anyone have the part numbers?

Here is the style (but not the color) in Mopar Kit 82205120.

It's a Petersen Manufacturing Company series 120 lamp.

I just finished installing the DC kit and it was fairly simple to do. The hardest part was drilling the holes in the roof but after that was done it went very well. I was able to pull the headliner down like some fellow TDR members described and the wiring was a snap. I also took there advice in connecting the power supply to the headlight switch and this worked out good as well.

I'll take this oppurtunity to say THANKS all who gave me advice.

Thanks, STEVE

I want to install the cab clearance lights on mine, but I am concerned that they will leak! What comes with the kit to seal around the lights to keep them from leaking. I am dropping hints to the family that I want the lights. . Any suggestions???

I put them on 2 years ago... so far so good. I did install them with some clear RTV around the inserts but the foam seals that come with the kit work well by themselves.

I installed a set in a Chevy awhile back. To prevent any leaks, after they are installed but before you put the headliner back, put silicone aound all the screws and the holes where the wires come in to the cab. They will NEVER leak if you do this, but whenever you change the bulbs, dont forget to add another drop of silicone to the screw.

Just installed the kit I got from JCW and they look very close to the OEM style. Made by Hi-5? Only $26- can't beat that. Look real nice too. I put some loctite RTV silicone around the holes, we use it alot at work and it is bullet proof.
