Cab Grab Handles

I bought an 02 back in July and was asking a stealer if you could mount the old Grab Handles above the passenger seat and drivers seat like I was able to do in my 01, of course they said NO that DC had changed the mount area. This week I started doing some interior work and found the mount area was the same so I went to a local auto recycle yard (read JUNK yard) and found one from a 97 and sure enough it works just fine.



For anybody that had a 95-97 model they came stock, and were special order in 98 and were not advertised after that. The handle cost $30. or so from the stealer and can be found for around $5. at a local auto yard, took a couple of minutes to clean up but came out just fine.



My wife is happy again! She has always said the A frame handle was in the wrong place or angle or something... ..... anyway now she's happy and can get again like she used to.

My '98 SLT came with it stock- not sure about later years.

Did you mount the grab handle above the driver's seat? I've looked but it doesn't have the backing plate for the mounting screw like it is on the passenger's side.

Do you have a picture of your setup? It looks like there are only two screws that you can just drill through the headliner and attach the grab handle.



Ya I don't understand why you wouldn't want a handle for your passanger in a 4x4. Genius dodge engineers, I didn't have a grab handle in my 01 4x4 either.
