The knob that controls the air flow in cab heater broke. When I tried to install new knob, shaft knob fits on pushed back. Is the control broke? Have not had dash panel out to look at control as of today. New knob looks same as old knob. Part # 1-04882482. Is that an old part or is there an up dated part? Dealer said new control is $150. Part # 55037027 is suppose to be new updated control #. Sure could use some advice!!! tia jps

Had my evaporator replaced some time ago and the controller for the heat would either be hot or cold. Nothing in between. The one we got from dodge was about $ 75. 00.

Don't know what the part number was. I can find out if you like.

Heater control knob

Guess I didn't explain my problem very well, Dave. Its the upper knob, the control that changes the direction of air flow. The new part # is suppose to be 55037027. Will have to try to double check that # some how. My dealer has some problems when it comes to parts info! Anyone know where to buy Mopar parts at a good discount? Thanks for trying to help Dave!! jps

Sorry about that. Can't help with that, but I had a control problem that was not the knob some time ago after installing the jake brake. I accidentally hit the vacuum line on the firewall that goes to the control. When it happened the selector went to defrost and stayed there.

The line has a sleeve the small hose fits into and is located between the fuel filter and the fuse box close to the firewall.
