Hey Guys!

I didn't get the cab lights from the factory. I'd really like to have them, but not sure where to go to get them installed. Not sure I trust the dealer to do it, and a custom automotive shop may not do a good job either?

Any Input?

Thanks!

Andy

I did them myself on my 95 years ago. Bought the kit from Dodge. Came with a template to lay on the roof to mark the holes. The first hole is hard to drill but the rest are easy. I had problems finding the spot in the junction box where they told me to hook the wire to. I ended up wiring it somewhere else.

The kit from Dodge had those really useless plastic anchors too. If the new ones are like that, I'd drill small and use a sheet metal screw.

Roof Lights

I bought my 2003 Ram at Reedman, Langhorne Pa. on Sept 11 2002. I wanted the cab lights installed so I called the dealer and they said they will install any factory Mopar accesory. So I bought the kit for 89. 90 and they installed the lights for 1 and 1/2 hours labor 116 dollars. They took so long to install them they ended up only charging me 55 dollars. I left the dealer in a pouring rainstorm and to this day they are OK,in my opinion the dealer should do it,as it will be guaranteed, and they look great!!!

Just make sure they seal the heck out of them - the only problem I've had with my Ram is the (factory installed option) clearance lights - my truck is at the dealer right now having two lights replaced for leakage. I would get water dripping into the cab off the visor mounts, even after they were resealed once at the dealer. A minor problem compared to having an engine or transmission go, but annoying nonetheless.

As much as I like the look of the clearance lights when I ordered my new truck I spec'ed a slick top just because of the possible leak factor they carry. On my '01 I had a leaker and on '03 #1 I had one get condensation on the lens.
