Well, Macker and I were suppose to make project of this together at work on both of our rigs but ... . at about 7 o' clock sunday night :D one of those things when you start reading, planning, prying, unscrewing and the next thing you know there's holes in the roof!!!!!! Can't leave em open like that!!!

For those that want to do this... . there is no wiring required. The pig-tail already exists behind the pass-a-pillar trim. Just splice or plug and you're done.

Easy job, took 2 hours going slow. No need to crawl on the roof etc... long arms will have no problem drilling the center holes and everything else.

Said I wouldn't buy a truck this time if it didn't have em... dawg-gone sales people... see a sucker like me a mile away.

My 03 did not have the wiring in the pillar but the Dodge kit came with everything you need to run down and tap in at the fuse box. Like you said, nothing to it. The headliner has to come down but that was no big deal. See my thread under "headliner removal".

$$$$

these kits are only $89. 00 from the dealer. . or 72 if you get chysler discount... ... guess I better get mine done quickly now... ... :(

Center console - Some trucks seem to have clips, some screws under the lights. Pop the light lenses out and see if there are screws behind them.

Sun Visors - The clips for the visors, just pry out, but not all the way. They are a spread clip thingy...

A-Pillars are 10mm bolts and come out easy... just pull hard.

Then the headliner has flexability to pull down probaby 5-6 inchs... . enough room to do whatever.

There is also a bracket behind the center console that screws to the roof with 2 screws... . it was easier to route the wire with that out.

I have a question about the install, how do you lay out each light spacing is there a templete? I would love to do this to mine, just dont want to screw it up and then make it look like crap.

There is a template that comes with the MOPAR kit from the dealer. It stretchs across the roof, and has measuring points etc... makes the job a snap.

:( I didn't . Probably have to pull them back off and paint the bare spots... . which will be a nightmare because the dumb plastic inserts like to turn with the screws.

I also did no rust proofing but did apply a thin layer of RTV to the gasket thingies to be sure they wouldn't leak. Just for giggles I slid the middle light ahead about 3/4 of an inch and the outside two back about 1" on the template to get a little V formation. I like the way it looks.
