I just got a set of Pacer Delux cab marker lights. the model # is 20-105.

the instructions specifically describe wireing the black ground wire to a mounting screw. and they even show it in a diagram. but none of the 5 lights have anything close to a ground wire. just a single red positve. could it be that i have a newer model set that dosent have a wire, just grounds it self through the screw that mount through the light frame? its crome plated diecast steel, will that alllow current to pass? im open to any experience or thoughts

thanks

jimmy

Just try one and see, run the red wire to the positive post on your battery and use a scrap of wire to go from the negative battery post to the chrome where the mounting screw goes, if it lights then they are using the frame for a ground. Yes chrome is conductive.

Run the ground from a dash frame attachment for some other ground wire. Attachment to light depends on light housing design, you're on your own there.

They will ground themselves. And that works fine as long as you never get any corrosion where they're screwed down.
