Cab Roof Lights?

My truck came with cab lights and I later added the 2010+ style of clear lens and run an amber LED bulb in them. With about eight years on the clear lens style I am getting a lot of UV damage so would like to replace them. That isn't a problem, the problem is the rubber bulb sockets after 18 years are looking a bit worse for the wear, so the question is, how difficult is it to replace the factory harness with the wiring kit sold for adding later? I assume similar if not the same as the factory installed wiring? If so, could I just buy a 2010+ kit complete with clear lens and harnesses and plug and play into a 2001 or is the 2010+ harness different than the one used in the 2nd gen trucks?

2nd gen kit = 82207252AC

4th gen kit = 82211190AB
