cab rust a problem?

Im building myself this newer service truck

I pulled the floor mat out & pressure washed the inside of the cab & found a few rust spots a couple of which look like they may be a common problem this is where the floor meets the transition to the firewall at the kick panels just below the sorta oval shaped plastic plug in the kickpannel especially on the drivers side I should have no problem cutting & welding in the flat spots of which there are like 2 spots Ill have to cut out like a 4 inch square & weld in pieces but the area I mentioned will be a lil more difficult its not real bad but I was wondering if this was common

HEY, as i understand it ,it is a problem,the carpet holds the water well,and never realy gets a chance to dry,up north with the long winters and snow,its not just the dodges ,they all have trouble,

I had the same problem with mine, as well as a noticable thinning of the metal at the feet and at the cab mount meets the floor.

Went here and got both the driver and passanger side floors, covered all the rust areas, a little hammerin, trimmin and the fit perfect.



I figured easier to weld a full floor now then patch it again and again, i plan on owning the truck awhile.



I also noticed there was a bit of rust under the lower door weatherstripping where the weatherstripping just holds the water on top the rocker.



NO carpet, or fiber insulation crap going back in.
