Hi all,

Long story short.

My '98 Q-cab got rolled 4 days after I bought it(used). Cut roof off, installed roll cage and vinyl top for summer. Made out decent on insurance, basically got too keep the truck for free.

Have since found a '97 cab with doors, same color(red). I'll be out the quad doors, no biggie since I picked up a real crewcab :D for hauling the family. Now I know there was major dash upgrades from 97-98. I was planning on swapping my dash/seats over since I have power leather, etc. Headliner and some trim won't match but what the hey, it's a work/play truck now.

So my question is:

Has anyone upgraded a older 2nd gen too the newer style dash before?

If it is like a GM the dash module should be held on by 4-6 main bolts, I just wonder if the mounting tabs are in the same spot  . If not I guess that is why I have a wire welder, right?

Any thougths/comments appreciated.

Dan

i know the whole dash is just held in by 5 screws across the top pretty much evenly spaced and two bolts on the side i had my whole truck apart and from doing some work under the dash on my friends i would think you could swap the dash over but i seem to remember the front seats bolting in different because of the seatbelts being in the seats in the front but i could have been just the tracks but the back seat bolts in the same other than that all the plastic trim behind the doors is different and headliner is different by the sides
