having problems with the screws that hold the cabinet door hinges coming loose. This last trip I travelled ~14 miles of logging road with my trailer (36ft 5th wheel) so you imagine the vibration/jolting that was happening.

Does anybody have a suggestion for better fasteners? The cabinet frames seem to be pretty soft 'wood' and subject to easy tear out of the threads.

Thanks,

On my fleetwood, they stripped completely on a couple of the doors. Here's what I ended up doing. Get some small (I think 6-32, but might be 4-40) machine screws. Drill completely through the fact frame and use washers and nylocks to keep them in place. It worked well and didn't pull out after that.

you may be lucky

NVR FNSH,

Last month my whole cabinet came off the wall after 20 miles on paved roads. Took the contents and weighed them-14 pounds. The suggestion about using bolts sounded pretty good, if you don't like that you could try this. Slightly taper a match stem and drive it into the screw hole, trim the end off flush with the facer then reinstall the screw.
