Issue 48, in the front.
I did it and never looked back. Way I look at it is eliminate as many electrical, relay controlled, computer controlled gadgets as you can. When my FSS started acting up I didn't even bother to trouble shoot whether it was solenoid or relay, just ripped solenoid out, threw it away and installed the manual cable.
Back in '98 I put a 6 cylinder Nissan diesel in my '82 W250. The only reason that engine needed electricity was to start all else was totally mechanical. So wish my 12v was like that.
