Intake air temp sensor issues

So did my first official long tow test, I did 12k trailer with about 1,400 in bed/cab for 800 miles. Figure that was enough for a official shake down to make any problems raise before regular weighing at or near max 23k combine weight. Truck did awesome, hand calculate MPG were better then any 1 ton gassers unloaded I ever owned. EGTs were cool man can't believe how cool these 03/04 run and how quick they cool down. And I am loving the 48re as I am learning when it likes to be pushed and when it likes the throttle to be lift off. But the entire 800 miles I heard a very slight boost leak. Quickly found it at the turbo where the boot rube against the stock air intake baffle. What brands as in manufacturer are everyone liking? I'll be doing the entire kit and cold air to delete that huge baffle. Thanks TDR!

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying one of the CAC Boots has a hole in it or the Intake tube between the Air Box and the Turbo?

I wouldn't waste my money on a Cold Air Intake. You'll get the best filtration and performance, on a stock or lightly modified engine, from the stock Air Box. But, spend your money any way you like.

All good carquest had the same style in stock and I did aluminum tubing and rubber hose couplings and kept stock airbox for a DIY kit. I cant spend money either on logos and fancy stuff so I try and make everything myself by pieces or raw materials. Gotta love having a shop and a business in your backyard

OEM is just fine but you need to align the intake tube proper then it doesn't rub on the CA Hose after the Turbo.

And please, leave the OEM Intake and Filter unit like it is, there is no benefit from modifyit, worse it will harm your engine from doin so.

Ozy, the factory intake tube is what rubbed. The factory OEM filter assembly is still there. I just changed bulky plastic tubing to a cleaner less bends like what we see on fire trucks, dump trucks, and heavy haulers that weigh 80-120k that I personally work on. Just taking proven designs from the big boys to our small bore diesels

Yes i know what you mean and where, it is a close call, quarter inch of air on both side of the intake tube but it fits.
On your truck probably someone didn't take care for it while disassembly - reassemble.
