Any good MP3 sites?

what the longest thread we have had

I'm sure someone down south could recommend some good Cajun music that i could pick up on a CD. I don't know of any popular musicians of Cajun so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike :D

I dont know any REAL famous cajun bands. The first one that comes to me is Wayne Toups. Most bands are local favorites in their community.

I do know of a web site that has all kinds of music native of Louisiana.

Just search for cajun music in the categories box. It will list quite a few different artists.

At least you could order off the net and have it delivered to your house. Dont forget that zydeco is considered cajun music also. Its a cajun\raggae\stomp your feet music. Lots of fun!:D

Thanks barryg41,i have always like the music, now that i have a CD player in the truck i might as well take advantage of it. Mike

I have no idea if they have a CD but I have an old tape of a bunch of really old cajuns that I got in Layfayette about four years ago. The group was "Gurvis, Shorty and the Branch Playboys" and all the singing was in cajun/french. Good stuff and real cajun music. I bought the tape at Prejeans (sp) that good cajun food place in Layfayette, they were playing there at the time.

Look what I found. A link to the resturants bands and there are the boys I have on tape. I am sending them an email to see if I can get a CD...

I have heard the most of Wayne Toups.

Before I buy anything, I check the web to see if I can download it for free. Go to www.cnet.com and download music city morpheus. It is free and does not have any viruses. This program is a peer to peer file sharing system that you search for music, find the people who have it and then download. If you have a high bandwidth connection, you can download movies too.

Let the Good Times Roll!!!!

Found several Zydeco CDs in the record place in Chattanooga, so they are out there.

Man, I can't remember his name... Doug Kersaw, something like that. I played that tape 'till it died while picking up chicks in my 1972 Dodge 3/4 ton gasser ( well, I did play that tape, never seemed to get many chicks, at least keepers :D ). Anyway, it was some good bayou music for sure.

The song is "Louisiana Saturday Night" by Mel McDaniel. I downloaded the MP3 off of Morpheus a while back. If you want me to send it to you, PM me with your e-mail and I'll fire it off to you. I can't get the PM to let me attatch an MP3 file.

Louisiana

When I was single, it was always nice to hear those pretty Acadiana gals offer some gumbo, go-go and do-do. Now its just frustrating.
