Biofuel-black diesel?

Help for a Bio Diesel Rookie Please...

This is a question for the homebrew types in California.



I recently sent in the application and so forth to the California Dept of Food and Agriculture for a used cooking oil transporter's permit (to collect WVO for homebrew) and called just now to check the status of it. I was told they had received it, and that the next step is to have the area supervisor contact me to schedule an



I hadn't heard about an inspection being necessary. Has anyone had this inspection done? Did you pass? Or, if not, what did you fail on? I hope this isn't another obstacle/barrier (the first being the permit, the second being the outrageous insurance requirement) to becoming legit. I hope it's not a case of the government keeping the little guy down...
 
Some guys here sorta giggled at me when I suggested that SOME states aren't real friendly towards just letting ANY Joe Blow start hauling off restaurant oil waste - nor are the licensed transport guys, who view outsiders dipping into their tanks and business as pretty much the same as ranchers view rustlers...



California surely isn't the only state with strict Hazardous Waste laws - and it will only get worse as more private moonshiners get in on the act and bypass fuel tax revenue.
