Replace it with a 49-state intake, make a block off plate for the exhaust manifold. Do a search and you can come up with the part #, I don't have it handy. Should cost about $70 for the intake, or "connector tube" as the parts manual calls it.

I blocked off the port on the exhaust side with a piece of 1/2" iron and ordered the Banks twin ram intake. I plan to some day replace the exhaust manifold with the ATS, when money comes around. You will need to block the vaccume lines off or it will set a check engine light. It will obviously show up on the ECM when the dealer plugs in too.

Disclaimer: This is all I lie, I have not modified any of my emission control equipment;) .

Cheap route:

Beg a free one from fellow TDR members who have installed the Twin Ram and the ATS!

I had two different friends give me theirs, THANKS!

Check engine still came on, cross wire it or pull the bulb.

Has anyone had success fooling the check engine light to staying off and at the same time removing the EGR valve? It's not a big deal but I would like to keep the light just in case something goes wrong that I don't detect first.

One other thing, I've heard about a plate that can be purchased to block off the exhaust but can't remember who sells it, anyone know? Geno's?

Bluhaven

Not sure if you need this info but... The Cummins part number for the 49 state intake is 3931516 and costed about 60. 00. I used the gasket from the mounting flange on the EGR tube and traced a pattern for a block off plate for the exhaust manifold.

Replacing the CA intake reduced my EGT temps 200 deg or more cruising unloaded.

Haven't figured out how to disable the CHECK ENGINE light besides unplugging the blub.
