Vulcan Performance Injectors?

Just talked to smog guy at a gas station where I drop fuel. He said that in January the smog test will be just a visual thing look for footprints on computer have all the el toro poo poo that it came with from the factory. My question is if I were to put in different injectors and nothing else in the way of a programmer would this do anything or just put more smoke out the pipe. That is also part of the test prolong smoke. they will allow some but not excessive.

Adding bigger injectors will put you into regen more often so I would guess a bigger fuel mileage penalty un like the non dpf years in the way they react.

But it should pass the snap test as long as the dpf is working

I do not believe the 5. 9L engines have the same emissions on them that the 6. 7L engines have. If I read the gentleman post above correctly he has a 04 truck which is older then yours.

I know that my sons 06, 5. 9L has bigger injectors in his engine but he needs to run two CP3 fuel pumps to feed them. He is also running a custom tune from Smarty that Bob Wagner has set up for him. I believe this controls his injector cycle also. I not sure if the 04 has an ECM that controls the injector cycle or not, if it does. Then you will need to run a programmer to control the injectors since these are tied to the ECM.

Hope this helps.

What we started to talk about was testing and if the guys at the smog stations could tell what had been done... .

From what I've read, OR & WA have copied the upcoming procedures from CA... . and what I understand of it is as follows... .

The equipment must be in place with a visual and electrical inspection, in that a connection to the under dash connection finds all items on the truck and functional, just like a car test... . those items that can't be seen by the electronics, will get a visual inspection... .

The vehicle will go through a run up and later a snap test for excessive smoke... . I assume that a tuner will pass. . as the factory electronics are still there... . A DPF delete, or EGR delete or a CAT delete will not pass and the owner will be forced to re-install the missing items... .

I also think that some changes in injectors will pass...

We currently have nothing more than the smoke test where I'm at, but there's been a lot in the paper about it... and I assume where they are going is down the same track they are with cars... .
