Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) California Difference

I am looking at a truck in So. CA. Can someone tell me the difference in the way the trucks are put together for So. CA. and what I should look for. I am looking at an '02 with 46K on it and they are asking 14,500. Is there anything that I should look for. Any information eill be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Slight diff in sortware,the hard parts are all the same. No Cat in any of the 2nd gen 24v's

I've never been able to pin down exactly what the software differences are, but with some help from the Smarty folks I understand you can replace the cali programming with the regular program.
