caliper question

Can anyone tell me what the proper torque is when tightening the caliper mounting bolts? Thanks

The last one I did, it had the bolt heads rounded off so I simply used vice grips to R&R them. . They must hold well as the truck is still on the road last I saw. It was the only 4X4 I had ever done and don't really know what the head is supposed to look like.

My 95 service manual says to start them by hand to avoid cross-threading and torque them to 38 ft lbs.
