Ok, a thought ran through my head. I have a decent medium duty junkyard in town. They have a few industrial p-pumped 12 valve core 5. 9's. Anyone know if industrial 5. 9's came equipped with 60# valve springs?? I could pick them up CHEAP. Not pay the $120ish for new. Plus put a collet or two in my pocket as well. Anyway to tell them apart while on the engine? I know off, next to each other you can tell them apart. Thanks for any knowledge, advise on this.

The springs are less than $9. 00 ea. from Cummins, I got mine from a local Kenworth dealer. Part #3916691. Why fart around with used parts of unknown condition? Motors are expensive.

I agree, used valve springs in a $7000 engine :--) . A set of new ones are $60... ... . hmmmm. Not a chance.
