Calling all Dually owners...

I have some questions about a dodge dual wheel truck. I was thinking about getting a 3500 4x4 CTD(2002 or so). I want to put 315/75/16 tires on factory 16x6 wheels in the rear with one inch spacer, and the front would have same tires on 3/4 ton 16x8 wheels up front. Does any one have this set up? Will this fit without a lift? I have 315/75/16 tires on a 3/4 ton truck without any problems. Is a 3500 the same? Is the front hub different, is there a spacer that comes off? Thanks.

315/75 R16's are only recomended for rims 8" to 10" wide. You would have an incredible amount of Sidewall Bulge from the rims if you ran them on a 6" rim. Most Tire shops would not mount them. You would need wider rims to run them.

Also You would need to run a spacer in between the rear wheels because the Tires would touch each other at the sidewalls using that wide a tire.

The biggest I commonly see on a dually is a 255/70 R 16. I have a friend that runs that now.

Please post any pictures of 315/75/16 tires on 6 inch dual rear 3500 rims!!

Also, photo's of 2500 rims of the front of a 3500 truck would be great!!!

Thanks!!

not to mention with tires/wheels that wide you will more than likely need to exchange the lugs in the rear due to the fact that by the time you put enough spacers in there they wouldn't be long enough.

I think you have to change the front hubs? Im not 100% on this but it looks that if you were to unbolt the spacer the studs woudlnt match the rim.

heck who needs training wheels anyways!! :-laf :-laf

On a '00 - '02 the wheels will bolt up to the hubs without the wheels. Prior year duallys have a smaller pilot diameter on the hub bearing. This would allow the wheels to bolt up but they would need to be lug centric, not hub centric (maybe they are? I've never had a 2500 apart). You can't bolt the earlier spacers onto an earlier 2500 hub unless it's machined out.

The guys I know running 315's on 3rd gens are running 2" spacers inbetween duals and 2" level kit up front. Thats with dually rims up front.
