I seen u have had some experience in putting a I/C pump on a non I/C motor. I just put a pump off a 1993 on a 1990 and I changed out the delivery valve holders. My question is do I need to keep the springs inside there with the holders or use the ones of the 1993on the 1990 dv holders I hope u under stand what I am asking . Any body else can chime in to . I just cant get this thing started and was wondering if that was it??? Thanks Justin

You should be ok changing out just the DV holders. I am currently running a 1990 pump on a 92 engine; changed the holders to fit the lines, and have had no issues.

Your KSB is different, so it might pay to change that out. Or you can run a switch up into the cab and turn it on when it's cold outside.

If you DV Holders have the notches on the wrench flats they are the same internally according to the manual, outside the fact that one set is longer than the other.

There is a technical name for the late model holders with the notches. I'd have to look in the pump book to locate that.

Pump book eh? Sorry I can't help ya. I've never fooled with any of the above. I just managed to get the mix and match fuel lines/holders/VE's to work together. Was the 93 pump a good runner? Could be a bunch of things not allowing it to run. Air, lines not hooked up correctly, pump shaft key not correctly aligned in pump gear, then smashed up by the gear itself upon restart. Pump not primed with fuel prior to startup etc.

Thanks
