calliper drag, quick fix or cronic

Still suffering from the dreaded right pull. Gotter nailed down to the front right brake. I'm told this problem might be a cronic one due to the brake design and a new calliper might just be a quick fix. Anyone in my boat ? What's the real fix ?

This one can usually be cured by polishing and lubing the pins and lubeing the guide surfaces that the calipers slide on. I use SilGlide for this. Some use Dow111. Get them at NAPA.

If the pull is worse loaded, try backing up a bunch and hitting the brakes to set the rear adjusters. I found this to help mine. The dealer will usually swap the front calipers side to side. This will cure it for about 10k miles and it will pull toward the other side while braking.



Lubing the pins will help. The quads always seem to pull toward the low side of the road and with the wind. If you experience a pull while driving, jump over to the oncoming lane and see if the pull goes the other way. Chrysler has openly admitted that the Qcs and X-cabs will easily pull on sloped surfaces and in the wind.
