What is better and why????

the bolt on is definitely better for high performance high rpm usage, the press on gear is ok for a mild or low rpm truck, i am going back together with the bolt on kit from f-1 and the helix two cam... hope this helps and maybe someone else will chime in... ;)

I think im going to go with the helix 2 and the bolt on gear for easy removal and the F1 valve springs...

Has anyone ran the Helix 3 ?

yes they are keyed in place. I am running the pressed on also. I would have opted for the bolt on, but due to parts availability and short time frame notice, I was unable to get the bolt in set up.

I have the bolt on setup from F1 Diesel.

I have thought about it and alot and of course the bolt on is superior no doubt about it.

But, with the 3rd gen gears being straight cut vs. helical cut of the previous generations then I would think that gear walk would not be an issue.

With the helical gears of previous years high load or sudden shock can push the gear off of the cam

For the extra insurance and on Don's advice I went with the bolt on system.

PS: Don's bolt on system still needs a press to get the gear started onto the cam nose.
