Dead Pedal

Well, my luck just ran out...time for new injectors

Bought a Hamilton Camshaft, need to remove the gear from the stock cam and install on the new one.

The 2005 factory service manual says "the cam and gear are replaced as an assembly" so it offers no help.

I guess just put it in my Harbor Freight 20 ton press and go to town?

Heat the gear before installing on the new cam? What temp?

Thanks for the advice.

Yep, press it off. Something like 350 degrees in the oven for 20 minutes or so and and it should just tap on.

Got it changed. The harbor freight 20 tons press did the job.

I would recommend maybe 400 degrees for 20 minutes, I did 375 for about 17 (in a hurry) and had to do some real hammering.
