I am trying to figure out how to change the sensor. It's under the VP-44 and next to the power steering pump. It's so tight there. I was trying and gave up after 30 min. . Is there any trick in getting to it easier without messing with the power steering or the VP? If any of you have done it, please chime in. Thanks. Ilian

just take your time and if you can stand on your head it would be easier

ron (rb10 i have a 2000 sport and it it me awhile to change it

I did mine when I had to do seals in the vacuum pump, I could not get it otherwise. You could loosen the vacuum pump and move it out of the way.

Sounds it's pretty hard. Any other opinions here?

I managed to get the electrical connector off from below using a long flat blade scewdriver. Now for the hard part. While I didn't have any need to pull the CPS I wanted to see if I could get to it if necessary.

Using a 3/8 drive ratchet and two extensions (12" to 16" total) I went straight at the bolt going under, and in line with, the VP44. It would have come off fairly easy at this point.

Don't know if this will work for the average engine bay. My OEM fuel filter and lift pump are gone so it's pretty open under there.

If that doesn't work. . it looks like you can pull the oil line going from the engine block to the vacuum pump and that will open up enough space to get at the one bolt holding the CPS.
