Can anyone tell me the correct PN for the CMP on an ETH? Cummins NW in Pendleton doesn't seem to know. The CPL number is 2415, engine SN is 56678563. Cummins sold me PN 3408430 which appears to be the crank position sensor, which my ETH does not have.

Thanks everyone,

Vaughn

Well after further searching looks like I do have the right PN. It just didn't look the same as what I remember seeing from underneath my truck, I thought it took two retaining screws instead of one for this sensor.

I hear it's a PITA to replace!

I replaced mine on the 98. 5 and it is definitely a PITA. Removed the driver side battery and pipe from intake so I could see what I was doing. Not much fun, but probably a lot cheaper than having it done by the stealer or Cummins, Good luck, Kenny

Vaughn,

It's not that hard to replace. Just pull the Vp44 off then it's right there!!! DUHHHHH!!!;) :D :D

Get a good look at it with a mirror. Then use a 1/4 ratchet with a Ball end allen socket to remove bolt then pull it out. It might require a little twist. The only tough part is you cannot get a look at what your doing and have your hands in there at the same time. . Good Luck. . L8tr Kurt
