My faithful Canon T90, an SLR I purchased in 1987, is in the hospital. It uses the Canon FD lenses, not these autofocus things that are so common now.



I hope it lives. I need it for the rally. I do have a Canon G5 digital, but I think I just don't have the faith in me to use it for that, and also I don't really have enough storage media capacity.



I am curious as to how many of you may be involved with pre-autofocus Canons, and what you are doing for bodies, parts, repairs, etc.



I can't afford to go to a digital SLR, and quite frankly, I am not sure I want to. I am still a film guy at heart.

I've got a few bodies, though I don't know if any are T series. I might be able to send you a loaner or something though I haven't checked any of them over in years.

Not Canon, but still use Nikkormat FT & FT2.

Still give great pictures but have not added any lenses for quite a while.

LOL, I have a Canon T90 as well, and I love it. The best camera I owned, ever. It will do anything you want it to. I've dropped it once with a 70-210 zoom on it. Camera survived, lens didn't, but the camera has a nice scar on it. I have a couple of FD lenses, along with a Canon F-1, and just recently sold my A1. All my camera repair is sent out to a pro in Washington. Just out of curiosity, what is wrong with your “tank”?

Interestingly, there are a number of sites on the web devoted to the T90, enthusiasts, and repair. This message is apparently due to a sticking shutter, and can be repaired reasonably. I was pleased to see such a following for the T90.

I love my old 1984 Nikon FA and am not in any hurry to convert to "digital"
