Air Pressures while towing

I've had my sisters and BIL goft cart in my garage since OCT.

He put new batteries in it last spring.

It was not completely dead, but was pretty low. I figure they will want it soon as camper season started 2 weeks ago.

Started charging at 5:45 was at 15A, 3hr later now down to 8A, charger says it will shut off automatically.

Anyone use one for camping, how long do these typically take, was in a rush just plugged it in and had to go. Did not look at the voltage that charge put out was specific to a goft cart.

Perfect, thanks, did not want to have an issue leaving it in.

My guess is its in run mode as it drives when you turn the key and push the petal, my guess only is tow mode is for when you want to move the thing around it disengages the motor.

Will check it in the AM.

Don't know that answer but did you check water level of batteries

I at least thought about checking it, as I was shutting the garage door. So that should count, and I have some distilled water sitting right next to the cart.

A few things I've learned from working on our fleet of golf carts over the years.

Any and all accessories will draw a minute amount of voltage while sitting. Setting the parking brake and leaving the switch in tow/maintenance mode also creates a draw.
As long as the plates aren't dry you did right by giving it an initial charge. It would be best to top each cell off 1/4" above plates and recharge for about 2 hours to finish bringing up the electrolyte level.

ln storing the cart long term it is best to charge them once a month but at a minimum the pack should be isolated from the cart to prevent parasitic draw from pulling the batts down.
This all from E-Z GO service manual.

Overnight worked.

Will check cell levels later, use it for some yard clean up and recharge.

It is alot nicer have to not start up the garden tractor, with the electric. If it doesn't have one it might wind up with a hole in the bottom foot rest for my small garden dump trailer. Then it can be returned for the season.

All of the chargers I've been around will monitor the batteries and when voltage gets low enough, will start charging until again. I charge mine once a week if not used and if I use for any length of time I charge it. The batteries in one of the carts are 8 years old. But by the end of the day they are showing to be tired.
