A different layout for a campground...

Alright, I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but let's do it again. I have to replace my Motorcraft Group 4D in my Bigfoot (dimensions are 19-1/2" l, 8-1/2" w, and 7-1/2" h). Shall I find another 4D or go with something like two 6V Trojan T105's? The math says two 6V batteries. Also, what's a lifeline battery? They look nice but sure are pricey.

By the way, I am running the Inteli-Power PD9160 Series RV Power Converter with a Charge Wizard. It got me 14-years of use out of this current battery.

I'd go with the largest amp hour capacity that will fit in the battery compartment (probably the 6 volts). Thats what I plan to do once the current batteries in my Arctic Fox are done. 14 years on one battery is great!

The lifeline is an agm(absorbed glass Matt)with the right care they are supposed to last longer than the flooded cell design. some people get longer life some don't. They are supposed to faster to charge as well

Dave,

If you do a lot of dry camping without a generator a pair of deep cycle 6 volt batteries will probably provide more battery life if you have the space for them.

Looks like I have to look into the AGM's. The T-105's were fine for the length (my biggest concern) and width of my battery compartment, but I didn't anticipate the new height of nearly 11". I think that the AGM's are a little more compact. Did pick up a Xantrex Linkpro Battery Monitor though.

Ended up getting the Lifeline GPL-4CT 6 Volt Deep Cycle AGM Batteries. Local BatteryPlus wanted $469/ea plus core. I ordered them from Powerstride Battery of Corona with free shipping (arrived in two days) for $304/ea.
