Campground location in the great state of CA

I have not really been to the great state of California twice. I will be going to CA for some Jeeping in the Sierra Neveda's starting in Lake Tahoe and heading west to Goergetown via the Rubicon Trail (very pretty the last time I was there last August). So my question is does anybody know of any good campgrounds in which to stay at around the Auburn CA along I80 (located) about 30 miles north east of Sacramento, CA. Thanks

Are you looking for an RV campsite? Auburn has a KOA about 4 miles off of I-80. Heres the number,530-885-0990. Your trip sounds fun, haven't had the chance to do the Rubicon yet, maybe next year. I did do a little wheelin' today up in the Sierras though.

Thanks, rwitt that is exactly what I was wanting. I will be doing the cheaper tent camping. I hope you had fun while wheeling in the Sierra's.

Try French Meadows. It is about 50 miles south of Auburn and the fishing is usually good.
