When talking horsepower with came plates are they rated at rear wheel or at the flywheel, ive got a 98 12 valve 3500 5sp i want the #11 plate,do you think the clutch will handle this, and by the way i do have pyro and boost gauges. Thanks Jason
I have about 60k on a stock clutch after installing a #11. This is with continuously pulling 26k lb loads, the flatbed trailer is never disconnected from the truck. The clutch is now starting slip, but this more due to wear than over torque. The truck is a worker and driven sensibly, not tiring to burn rubber. #11 is really pretty tame but is a vast improvement over stock.
I think the ratings are to the ground and probably near sea level! I got 283/714 at about 5500'. My other mods help low/mid range response but it's still just a 215 with the 11 plate. The 11 is rated 280/680?. I think my other mods have made up for the altitude!Craig
