Industry Problem

Hey gang.

The wife and I are looking to go camping soon in the New Braunfels area and were wondering if anyone knew of a place that they would recommend. We've got a 26 ft TT and would really prefer full hookups, but it's not absolutely necessary.

We've been to the area before, but not since we bought the trailer so we really don't have any idea what's available. We also tend to put alot more value in word-of-mouth than in advertising paid for by the campground.

Thanks,

Mike

Hey mikel,

I have not stayed in a park in New Braunfels so I don't have any first hand recommendations, I do know there are several in between San Antonio and there including a couple right in town. There are a couple of the big fancy type resorts along I35 in the region. I don't know if they have RV hookups, but one of the best places to stay in New Braunfels used to be the Landa Resort which was right by Landa Park (site of the Comal River, shortest river in Texas and completely spring fed, and home to the Schlitterban water park too - the spring fed river is amazingly clear)

I used to live in Live Oak, right down the road from there, and as I recall there were some very nice RV parks out toward Canyon Lake off of 306 and around the River Road area. This is very close to New Braunfels (5 miles or so) and the lake and the Gaudalupe River scenery is awesome. Also very close to Gruene, they have a place with a lot of live country music and the usual "old Texas town" antiques and such.

If you don't mind driving a few miles further, northwest of New Braunfels about 30 miles is Guadalupe River State Park, I have found that $ per $ the state parks are some of the best deals going for camping.

Hope you have a great trip, there are so many neat things to see and do around that area since it is so close to San Antonio and right in the midst of the Hill Country.

If I were going to New Braunfels I'd stay at Hill Country RV Resort

or River Ranch RV Resort. Both of them are great. Have a great stay.
