Has anyone run either the DD cam or the PDR cam. is there a big difference between the two or are they pretty similar. I am looking to get one but there is almost $900 in difference and i was just wondering if its worth it to get the DD cam.

Thanks,

Trey

I have the PDR cam.

The difference between the too is that the DD cam is billet for more rpms and the PDR cam is a regrind. I have had no problems with mine. I have taken it as far as 4000rpms + and its still in 1 piece.

I'm sure the grinds are different also.

If I were you I would call DD and PDR and ask for more info.

Tray- what MDW said! I've got the DD cam, and haven't a clue what the PDR cam is like. There are no two CTDs built alike here, and because of the various permutations, I don't think you can compare the two. Probably the majority of that $900 is due to the DD marine blank that is reground. If you REALLY wanted to throw some money around, you could buy one of each and head for the Dyno- then post the results for the rest of us. :D

Don't forget Enterprise, I'm running one of there cams and I've been real happy. I can't tell you about the other two cams but I did dyno mine before and after. It made peak hp/tq 400rpm sooner than the stock cam, lowered egt's 200 deg. and cut back on smoke quite a bit. One of the best mods I have made for sure.

EE cams are $600ish, probably depends on the grind as they have more than one ("How Insane Would You Like to Go?" :D )

I was at PDR's Dyno Day and Piers' cam grinder was set up there. What I recall was their cam is safe to 4300 RPM. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. His grinder commented Cummins cams are machined to the closest tolerances, by far, than any other cam he's dealt with.
