is there a diff between a rotary ic cam and a late p pump?

I think the profile is more aggressive on the 1st gens, but the material is weaker and prone to break more often than the 2nd gen cams.

The strongest Cummins 12V cam is the late 97 early 98 one. If you want a "really " strong cam go with a PDR ( or similar ) "Marine" style cam with the long bolt that holds the gear on and goes in past the first journal which is where they will break when abused. Shadrach
