Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Can a 2001 Edge Comp work on a 1998.5 24V?

Just had someone interested in my 2001 Comp that I was using on my '02 (with adaptors of course). He wants to know if it can be used on his 98 24V. Is that possible?

If the guy wants to buy a new harness then the Comp "box" will still work correctly.

i dont think so,even if the harness is changed,I was told that the Map values are supposedly different. his 98. 5 may set an overboost code wit an 01 comp.

Snow is right, the MAP reference voltage is different. 98. 5 - 2000 is one box, 2001-2002 is a different box (well, program anyway).

My info was from my own experience.



I have 6 buddies with all different years and I loan my drag comp to them all the time for use in grudge races.



Three have an 01 and another an 02 and my 99 box has never missed a beat.



Maybe we're just lucky.

99 box will work in a newer truck you just wont get full power. an 01 box on a 99 will set an overboost code.

In '01 Dodge caught on to what we were doing to their precious Dodge Warrentied motor's, and started screwing with us. (That's my take on it)



In '98. 5 - '00, MAP reference was 0PSI, in '00 the Data Link, changed, and moved.



'01 Dodge changed the MAP reference to 14. 7PSI, and changed the plugs.



In '02, Dodge Changed the MAP sensor Plug, and left the reference the same.



Also, in '01 Dodge changed the Wastegate on Automatic trucks to be hardlined, so a boost elbow wouldn't work anymore.



I think DaimlerChrysler knows alot more of the aftermarket world than we give them credit for...

where did you get your adapters to run an 01 comp in an 02 truck?

I have exactly the reverse... the need to put an 02 harnessed comp in an 01 truck.
