Probably already knew the above. There's a decoder on the web but it only goes up to 2002 Rams. Is it a 4x4?

I bought a truck that was repainted and I regret it to a degree. It's a great truck for a good price but if you are picky(like me) get a new one. If imperfections in the paint don't bother you than have at it.

Rocket, was your repainted by Chrysler? Was the whole truck repainted or just a section? Did you have orange peel effect or runs in paint?

It was repainted by Chrysler. The paint looks good but they did a poor job in a few areas. When the Linex guy pulled the masking tape off the truck it pulled about a quarter sized amount of the clearcoat off.

i am going to get it repainted for free so that's not as bad as it could be.

They repainted the whole truck on the outside b/c graphite is hard to match up.

I looked at quite a few trucks like that here in Olathe KS. They got them at an auction. They all had good warrenties, low mileage ect. For some reason my salesman steered me toward ordering one. I think they get more alocations with new orders. It comes with a piece of paper that says exactly what Chrysler redid. The trucks I saw looked great. You just could not get new car rebates, it would be sold as a used car with 42 miles on it. This was the info I got from my salesman.

Same Here,

I got a Chrysler Buy back Used 3500 with 36 miles on it. Most of the entire truck was repainted. The new paint on the truck is almost flawless. The trucks were repainted by hand. They have a 10 year waranty on the paint. I have done some painting in my time and I will say that it is a high quality job. They wet sanded the clear and glazed it also. Much much higher quality than a factory job in my opinion, no peel, no solvent pop no fish eyes. And since the human hand that painted it is not as precise as the machine that paints them in the factory I would guarantee the paint is much thicker. Side by side to my 2001 there is no comparison, 2003 is much more quality painted.

Only caution, make sure the paint shop didn't get any overspray or paint inside in truck! I have had to do a little clean up inside on the floor and doors.

At a used truck price you can't beat it thou!

Good deal at $31,900?--It kind of depends on a few things.

Doesn't sound like a great deal for something that is/was flawed. Is it a Lariat? I got a flawless 3500 4X4 SLT pretty well equiped for $32,000 after rebates.

Made in mexico, no side airbags, 8001-9000 Lbs ( 2500 ), 4X4,2500 ( again ) quad cab, Std output CTD, made in Saltillo mexico. This is from the service manual I mistakenly downloaded. No copyright infringment- I deleted it as soon as I knew it was wrong. Good thing I could do this from memory:D

The truck is a Laramie... with charcoal leather... . description says adjustable peddles, keyless, and overhead console. MSRP's for $39 and change. Well, what y'all think?

Must be 2X4???

Mine MSRP was $40,070 for SLT 3500 (SRW). Got it out the door for 32,000.

If it's a 4x4 Laramie I'd say 31,900 is a good deal, but something isn't right if they say the MSRP is 39,000... ... .

Had my buddy look it up, MSRP is 39,635 and the invoice should be about 34,800.

With a $2000 rebate on new (if you can find a new 03) it is right in there with a net net net deal on new. And actually you are getting a far superior paint warranty, as everything else remains the same. By the way, the warranty start date is in early January so the clock is ticking.

I got my 04 in late Aug. and paid $31,900 after the 2K rebate. That's the great news... . the bad news is that I had to accept 3. 9%APR.

I think it sounds a little high, or at the least not THAT great of a deal on a truck that's been repainted, and has a little history.

I would go to a different dealer and tell them the deal... . most of the time they'll bend over backwards just to sell you a truck that day - when they know your serious, they can be held over the fire. Even if you pay a little more, you might end up being happier.

Good luck.
