Can anyone recommend a turbo for DD2s and PMAX competition?

Lockers for pulling

I am looking for a turbo upgrade, as I have run out of air with just dd2s and an EZ. Since I am upgrading to the PMAX competition model, I know I will have no chance of the stocker burning all that fuel.

I have read and done searches a lot, and no one seems to want to go big with only stg 2 injectors. Thus, I need primary source info.

So here's where I am at. I think a larger housing is what I want, since drive pressure with the HX35 12cm is already pretty high. I was thinking 16-18cm range. So far, the nominees are:
  1. PDR40-- DUH. It's relatively cheap and easy to install.
  2. KSB-1. Wildcat claims it will feed 500 hp with no wastegate. I bet it's a little laggy then. But it's legendarily tough.
  3. Compounds. Spendy for sure, but definitely the best when setup right. How about a PDR40-18 for the small turbo, and an HT3B for the biggie?

    [/list=1]

So, what would YOU recommend for DD2s and a PMAX competition model on an ETH? I want to burn all my fuel on kill, but minimize lag.....

    TIA

I have a KSB1B, DD2's see sig.

It is laggy below about 10#. I got it to tow so a little laggy is not an issue. Maybe I will go to DD3's or a cam when I go heavier in a couple of years.

A cam would sure help the air. That was my next route if I thought it was too slow to spool.

Call Kurt and ask him to see what he thinks.

Call Piers and ask him to see what he thinks.

KLockliear has been around this business for quite a while and he just told you what he thinks.

Between KLockliear, Kurt, and Piers who else is there?

In the end it is your call anyway.
