The CAN BUS in my 2001 went south a couple of weeks ago. Engine ran fine but nothing worked on the instrument panel or overhead console. I tried resetting the codes with a generic OBDII diagnostic tool and disconnected power from both the body computer and the TCU to no avail.
I took it to Nuts to go Racing shop in Santee for diagnosis and Joe found the system was locked in a test mode. He reset it using a professional OBDII tester and all is now OK.
This is the second time I have taken the truck to this shop for diagnosing a problem and both times they spent time diagnosing and driving the truck, but didn't charge me anything because they didn't feel they had fixed anything.
My Kudos to this shop. I drove down from Vista, CA because of their reputation in the San Diego area and was glad I did. I will use them when I have a real problem that needs fixing.
