Bob, Marco, or anyone else... took the truck into the dealer yesterday but before I did, I took SW5 off and put the stock SW back on. Got the truck back today and tried to reload the SW5 and an error message appeared saying "unknown software" and I couldn't go any further than that. Has Chrysler done something to lock out any aftermarket software??? If so I will go back and have them remove it. My truck has 92K on the clock so I'd rather have the performance back than drive a dog with the stock software.

Can we get around the dealer's SW? And yes, I am sure I put the stock SW back on. It's like driving with the brakes continually on!:{

You may need to get the latest software update off the website. The dealer flash has surpassed what your Smarty has loaded in it.

Godspeed,

Trent

This is right, the dealer flashed your truck with the latest updates, now Smarty does not recognize it. Dealers need their butt's kicked for doing this without asking permission, some will do it, even after you tell them not to.

Download the latest software off Mads website, like blacksheepdiesel suggested, and you will be alright.

In 2001 guys were putting padlocks through the connector so the dealer couldn't access it with the owners knowledge.

This would work, but I don't recommend it. My daughter just recently had to run her 97 Honda civic through emissions, her OBDII port was broken off it's mount under the dash, her car passed the test, but failed!!!, They said the reason was tampering. $360. 00 @ Spokane Valley Honda for the new harness#@$%!.

Yep. . that was it. I loaded the newest software off the Mads site and it got me back in. Thanks to Marco for keeping everything up to date. I just loved the most recent SW version that eliminated the black smoke (all except for when I really wanted it)! It seems like this newest version is the same so thank goodness. Thanks again you guys! I love this forum... you've all been fantastic!

The thought of my dealer reflashing my truck without my permission is disturbing but maybe they think they are doing me a favor? Anyway... I've got my truck back to the way I want it so I'm good.
