Help me out with some advice guys... . all current mods are in the signature and I am thinking I may need to upgrade my HTB2 62/14 to something larger like the 64 or even the SP66. EGTs tend to sky rocket in 3rd and 4th gears going to 1400-1500+ real fast. I have a big probelm with surging during hard shifts at full boost but that is probably just typical of the manual trans. Also surges real bad in 5th gear cruising up steep grades at 30-40lbs. of boost when playing with the throttle to get around traffic. Still haven't figured that one out.

Anyway, I am sure the timing hasen't slipped due to the high EGTs cuz I checked it this past weekend I just am thinking my HTB2 62 is just not moving enough air for the EDMs I am running. I am in discussions with my parts supplier about going to a 64 or 66 but wanted to get anyone's advice on here before making the final decision on what to upgrade to.

Thanks, Joe

Any thoughts to twins? I know upgrading the HTB2 would be less expensive but I think you would get more out of the truck with less strain on the system with twins. Call Olee at PowerByPoole.com and just ask him. I know he uses the HTB2 in a sweet set.

I know twins would be the best option but I only have the money to upgrade my HTB2. I bought this turbo due to the uprgade options HTT offer for a lot less money than a new turbo if the case comes about where the one I bought turns out the be too small which I think I am in that situation right now.

So would the 64mm compressor suit me in youz guyz' experience over the SP66? I have heard others say the SP66 has serious surging issues and may not be suitable for a 500hp daily driver..... just what I have heard.

Thanks, Joe
