I want to put 315 nitto teragrapplers on my alloys that came on my 2001 2500. Can it be done? Are those 16x7 or 16x8? What wheels do they recomend for 315? Thanks

YES, but...

... . what Rob said. Just be advised that most people are reporting a very slight control arm rub with the 315's. I think it is mostly with tires that have the treaded sidewalls like the Goodyear MT/Rs do.

ATHOMPSON has 315 Goodyear MTRs on his rig and loves them.

Personally, I am headed to the 315 Nittos as soon as the Michelins are down enough to pitch it to my wife:)

As Hohn said, I LOVE my MT/Rs. The 315s fit just fine on the stock alloy wheels. Yes, there is a slight rub on the lower control arm just before full lock. There is also some rubbing on the back of the wheel well (the part thats flat) at full stuff.

The Nittos look like a good tire if you spend all of your time on pavement. If you don't, you may want to look the BFG ATs or Goodyear MT/Rs. Amazing as it sound, my MT/Rs handle much better on the pavement than the stock Michelins did. And when it comes to off-road, there's no comparison.

Another thing that amazed me was that I didn't notice any loss of power and even increased my fuel mileage with the 315s.

I do spend all of my time on pavement so thats why the Nittos look like a good fit. And as far as control arm rub I am planning on the D25 springs. Where do i get a DT trac bar by the way?

Seed Guy,

The D25 springs will NOT stop the rubing. I had to put bolts in the spindles to act as steering stops to stop the rubbing. I got the idea from a post by Rob Thomas though so no credit for the idea here, but it works:D

315's

They fit mostly, they rub when you compress the suspension and turn. they also rub on the control arms. The rims are 16x8's I boxed and cut the lip off of my control arms and did the bolt idea to get some of my turn radius back, it won't turn short stock.

305/70s fit just fine,

thank you very much; :D I've recently purchased the Toyo Open Country A/T 305/70x16s. I have the alloy rims. They fit great, no rubbing. They also have very little difference in speedometer error, as judged by my wife's monte carlo at 80 mph. . . . my truck reads (maybe) one mph slower than her car.

My 305's still rub lightly on the right...

but nowhere near as bad as the 315's did.

Luv the Nittos. Oo. Oo. Oo.
