Since this deals with both models of the 2nd gen I figured I'd put this post here. If it should go elsewhere I'm sure illflem will move it. .

I might be getting a wrecked 2000 truck. I want it for the drivetrain (to upgrade mine). One question I've been pondering -

Can I put a 7100 pump on a 24 valve motor? If so, any idea of what needs to be done for that? Just curious.

Thanks for the input!

Diesel Dynamics had their 24V P7100 750+ hp truck for sale a couple of months ago. It takes a lot of work and mechanical ability to complete that conversion.

There was a gentlemen over on www.dieselram.com that put a P7100 on his brand new '02 because he didn't feel he could get decent power with just a box, and didnt' want to spend $$$ on injectors. It's certainly not for the faint of heart, I asked him and he responded with a 3 page email. :eek: :confused:

Have esommer2500 go over to Scheid's there in Lafayette and take some digital pics of the 24V P-pump engine in the showroom. Get some of that electric lift pump on it too. Thats nice. Its twin turbo'ed but you can still get the idea. Its sweet... :)

Dan_69GTX: I'd love to forward you that email, it was very detailed. Unfortunately, it got accidently deleted about a month ago when my computer decided to do it's own 'maintenance' :-{}

Neil: They don't normally have that engine sitting there in the lobby, they brought all of those engines in for that day. I'm still kicking myself in the a$$ for not taking a camera:{
