Burning Used Motor Oil

Hi guys. I need some opinions and some facts. I found a station nearby that sells LSD B20 (that's what the sign on the pump says anyway) for the same price as all the rest of the diesel around here. I know Cummins approves B5 for the trucks, but who has used B20 and what were your results? And I'll even take opinions from people who haven't used it but want to give me their 2 cents as well! Thanks guys and gals!

Hello

I would have no problem running it. :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

If you a county, state, fed or fleet then you could run B20 but because you are just a owner they say B5 this sounds like B. S. to me. #@$%!

run it and dont look back. :) :)

I filled up with it today. My tank was a little over 1/4 full with regular diesel at the time. After driving around for a bit and letting it all mix up I can say my truck is definately quieter. If that a word. Should I say more quiet instead? I can definately hear the exhaust and turbo over the engine more than I could before. That's all I know at this point. Oh, and it sure seemed like slippery stuff when it came out of the filler nozzle and onto my truck before I pulled the handle.

I have been running B20 (which is 20% bio and 80 % dino) for almost two years now and have had NO problems. Change your fuel filter often when you first start using Bio because it has a high solvent nature and will remove all the built up gunk from your tank and fuel system. I started when the truck was new so I had No gunk. Truck euns much quieter and power seems about the same.

The biggest worry imho is possible water in any fuel with the common rails. If water gets past your filters into the injector in can get ugly fast.

You will loose a small bit of power. I found that the truck was a bit better on mpg, as long as you don't put your foot in the throttle. The Biodiesel will act as a cleaner for your fuel system so change your filter or watch your fuel pressure gauage for loss. One big advantage of the Biodiesel is it is a awesome lube better tahn any additive you can buy.
