My dad pulled his new stock radio from a 2004. 5 with steering wheel controls, for the fancy Navigation radio and has the old one sitting around. Can I swap it to my 1999 that also has the steering wheel controls?

Anything has to be better than my old infinity.

Mleppen Im Not 100% Sure But I Am Pretty Sure The Radios Changed After 02 Or 03 The Corners On The New Radios Are Rounded Rather Than Being Pointed Like The Older Ones I Think You Run Into Trouble Getting Them To Fit. Like I Said Not Sure But I Remeber Reading Somewhere.

NO, not from 3rd gen to 2nd gen.

i don't know if this helps or not as i think the 99 dash is different from mine but i installed the cd/tape head unit from a 02 durango in my 96 with a little dremmel work and a couple harness adaptor plugs, at the point i am at now i think i can plug in a rb1 nav unit inplace of this and jam (if i had $650 to burn on one from ebay)

shaped different, plugs are all different and I believe the newer one uses the CANBUS where the old one did not.

Can bus did not hit the trucks till 06 :) But the radios changed earlier and will not work

Oh well sounded good though, but would like to get something new that will play burned discs (without error msg. ) fit in the dash properly and use wheel controls, kind of plug and play. Am I asking too much?
