can I wastgate a ksb1

I have a ksb1 for my o3. I was told by harry from pdr not to go over 50# of boost for two reasons, head gasket & turbo cant take it. ok so with tst box on just level 4 I can hit 45# with egt's just under 1000deg.

although the power at this level is impressive (sop test is a lot stronger than stock) I feel that more fuel can be added with safe egt's if I can control the boost.

my question is can I wastegate this thing? it has a wastegated exhaust housing but it is blocked off with a bolt to keep it closed.

it looks like it just needs a actuator and a place to get a boost signal. what turbo is the exhaust housing from on a ksb1?

I thought the B1's were unbreakable.

You might try a wastegated exhaust manifold.

From where the turbo is mounted there is no room for the actuator, it would hit the block.

that sucks... I knew it was tight when I put it on but thought it might work.



floor it are you running this turbo and box at what power level are you running and what are your boost #'s and is the head gasket still in tact or stock for that matter.

Yes I am. I've been on level 7-6 and have the egt limiter set at 1500 deg. I've hit 52lbs boost and my head gasket hasent blown yet. I will be putting on twins and o-ringing the head real soon.

What kind of headgasket you going to use?

O rings wont work with the 3rd gen gasket.
